The Graphics is a good place to start as any. Far Crys visuals are some of the most stunning visuals to grace your corneas! The game starts of on an island straight out of the back of a postcard from the most beautiful scenic place on the planet.

You dont have to have a NASA computer to run Far Cry, as its extremly well made to be down-scaled for lower end systems, but if you have the power to crank up the visuals to the max youre in for a treat of unrivalled graphical amazment. With little things like wildlife going about thier lifes around you, youll see birds swoop and fly about the beautiful sunny sky, if you go for a swim in the ocean youll be swimming along with a whole world of underwater life from coral swaying in the seas current to fish gracefully gliding past.

You can get about these beautiful island by many methods, be it on foot the traditional way, or by one of the many modes of transport ranging from a hand glider to a jeep. All of which have real-time phsyics. The hand glider will allow you to glide gracefully over the islands and sea while your jaw drops down to the white sand below.

Real world phsyics are implimented into Far Cry, from the objects within the realastic world that roll down hills, or obay the laws of phsyics. The ragdoll phsyics found in the enemies - you shoot them in the leg itll go from under them, each bullet you fire leaves a mark on the body so be warned it can be viloent.

Next we come to what can make or break a game, mind-blowing visuals are one thing but if the gameplay is as fun as your tax return, or as imsersive as a slap around the face with a wet trout it can bring the whole thing down. Far Cry exells in the game-play stakes, offering up some of the most intelligent and human like A.I in recent years, they dont just stand about while you open a 44. Cal on thier buddy 4ft away from them - They call in back-up and take you down.

It isnt just said, its done the A.I really is sharp up in your face keeping you constantly on your toes and on the move. The gameplay is as wide open as the huge expansive levels are, what you do is upto YOU. You have set objectives, but you have endless ways to get to them, you can play it safe hang back but not by just crouching past some hapless gaurds like in most games. You have to hit the dirt staying out of site, you cant fire a gun erupting the tranquill silence of the beautiful island either and not have marines on your arse quicker than you can say Intelligent A.I!

The atmosphere in Far Cry is also deeply imsersive, having played the PC GAMER demo through espically the tunnels part it really presents interiors with as much graphical jaw-dropping clout as the exterirors do! It also shows just how realastic and imserve the real-time lighting can be. The atmosphere is constantly good, with the exellent use of well placed music and abient sounds, along with the banter of marines around the corner and the possible unkown in the dark caves.

I have played the demo level over and over again, and because of the option to take a variety of different approaches to the problems you encounter, this has been possible to enjoy over and over again. Stealth tactics can get you half way through the level without confrontation, alternatively the more gung-ho can choose to go in guns blazing from the start.

Dont think its going to be easy though, the enemy AI is well thought out and I found myself being flanked on both sides, and my poisition marked with a flare to summon reinforcements at one point. Whilst I would have preferred this to be a little more difficult when played at the top level, it was still extemely challenging.

The detail of the environment is fantastic. The reflection of the shore in the water, with shoals of tropical fish swimming beneath your boat is simply gorgeous, as is the lush dense foliage of the jungled areas inland.

Firstly the graphics are amazing,I recently upgraded my graphics card to a Gainward ultra 960 Golden Sample,my system is a 2100mhz Athlon system with 768Ram and I was amazed at how good the game engine performs......super smooth frames with everything either turned up to high or very high at 1024 by 768 res,I would be amazed if HL2 or Doom3 perform as well in the same specs!!!!

Secondly, everytime Ive played the demo it has been different,the enemies AI is above anything experienced before....etc on hard level go in Gung Ho shoootin and you will quickly be mincemeat!!!!a more cunning approach is required with multiple baddies....the one you missed who hid behind a rock ends up shooting you in the back!!!!!!
